How InSight(ful) Are You?

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.

Do you ever feel as though you need a map and a compass for your life & business?

Creating a vision statement can help. If you need direction here are some ways to get clear..

  1. Work to resolve old wounds.
It can be extremely difficult to look forward if you are still focusing on the past.

  2. Explore your passion and talents.
Start with a couple of lists.  What do you do well, without effort?
What is that ‘thing’ that you speak most passionately about?

  3. Spend time with people you admire.
If any of those people are doing what you want to do, if they’ve achieved the life or/business that you desire, then ask if they’ll mentor you.

  4. What do you want your life to look like?
Picture your life with no limits… with the freedom you want. Imagine what your dream life could look like. Creating a work-life balance that encompasses who you truly are and what brings joy to your life.

  5. Don’t limit yourself.
Dream BIG.  Switch the negative thoughts for positive.  With no limitations, what does it all look like?  Look at the the vision like an adventure… scary but exciting!

  6. Write a mission statement and list action steps.
In business you might write separate mission, vision and value statements.  Or, your mission statement can simply encapsulate your mission, your values and your vision.  Especially if you have a solo business.  Write them down, put it up where you can see it every day and then create some action steps to follow for the next 3 months, put them in your calendar!

  7. Find an Accountability Partner/Buddy.
Partner with someone you trust to hold you accountable for the plans you make and the goals you’ve created for yourself.  It’s important to make sure they know exactly what your short and long term goals and are willing to hold you to them!

  8. Be adaptable.
Allow for shifts, changes and growth.  There usually isn’t a one-shot,  straight line to any goal.  Allow for flexibility in your vision.
